The Law Offices of John Drew Warlick, P.A. is the oldest law firm in Onslow County which began in the 1930s when I. M. Baily formed a partnership with John D. Warlick, Sr., the father of the present senior partner of the firm. That firm later became Warlick & Ellis when Albert J. Ellis became a partner in 1945. In 1963 John D. Warlick, Jr. became a partner in the firm.The firm today includes Mr. Warlick's son, Robert Warlick, Deke Owens, Jack Swart, Davidson Myers and James Walter Bateman III. The firm today represents over 80 years of providing legal services to people in Onslow and surrounding counties.

Located near Camp Lejeune, a United States military base, we are well-versed in the unique aspects of legal representation of military personnel in divorce and child custody. We also have become well-versed in actions against the federal government because of military motor vehicle accidents and medical malpractice at the military hospital.

FAMILY LAW AND DOMESTIC RELATIONS:

Our firm can assist you through all aspects of your family law case. Whether your case involves divorce, child custody, child support, division of marital property or debts, or paternity, we can help you through these difficult issues. Some cases are able to settle prior to Court intervention. We can draft Separation Agreements and Property Settlements to resolve all issues with outgoing to Court. Further, we also represent clients in the enforcement and modification of previous Court orders or judgments regarding child custody, child support and spousal support (alimony). Finally, we have represented a number of service men and women as well as their dependents in family law cases that involve the military. TRAFFIC CASES AND CRIMINAL LAW:

Attorneys of the firm are regularly involved in representing persons charged with DWI, Speeding and other traffic offenses as well as serious misdemeanors and felonies. Conviction of a traffic offense can cause both points on your driving license and an increase in your insurance rates. We can frequently obtain results in these cases which prevent or minimize increased insurance rates and driver’s license points which can result in a loss of your driving privilege.

PERSONAL INJURY:

A significant portion of the services provided by our firm is the representation of persons who have been injured, or representation of the estate of persons who have been killed in automobile accidents, tractor trailer collisions, airplane crashes, commercial accidents or any other negligent means. We feel strongly that these people need someone to protect their rights. Insurance companies are not required to advise you of your legal rights. Insurance adjusters are trained and expected to settle cases at a minimum cost to the insurance company which employs them. We are available to discuss your legal rights with you. There is no fee for the first conference. You may have insurance of your own available to cover your hospital and doctor's charges. This insurance may be available under more than one policy and may include both your health insurance and your own automobile insurance. We will help you to collect these benefits without any fee for this part of our assistance. Our employment in personal injury and wrongful death cases is on a contingent fee contract under which we receive a percentage of the recovery at the time your case is settled or resolved. If you do not recover in the case, you owe no fee to our firm. The attorneys in our office have many years of experience in representing the injured against insurance companies. FEES:

At the initial conference or soon thereafter a full and frank discussion concerning fees and expenses will be had. Some matters are handled on a lump sum basis, other matters are handled on a per hour basis, and some matters are handled on a fee based on a percentage of your recovery. All of these matters will be fully discussed with you at the beginning of your case. We feel that it is Important that you have a clear understanding of the fee arrangements.
