Company offers

Dental Crowns

One of the main focuses in my practice is the long-term preservation of tooth structure and overall oral health. However, when a significant portion of a tooth is missing either due to fracture, failed filling or decay, a crown is the best option. If we attempt to place a large filling when a crown is needed, this can lead to fracture of the tooth and even possibly a later extraction. A crown can protect the tooth from cracks and fractures better than a filling when a large amount of tooth structure is missing.

Fillings and Inlays

What Is a Filling Made Of?
A filling is material that is used to replace missing or fractured tooth structure. Fillings are made of either composite or porcelain. In my practice, I utilize two tiers of fillings depending on what is required.

Composite
Composite is ideal for restoring small holes in teeth. It is a putty that forms a matrix and is subsequently bonded to the tooth.

Shaping Composite is an art. I start with shade selection to match the tooth. Composite needs to be placed very purposefully, designed and molded into the shape of the tooth, then finished and polished to mimic the natural tooth structure.

Porcelain Inlays (A Porcelain Filling)
In my practice, Porcelain Inlays are the conservative standard to restore large holes in teeth when a crown is not necessary. There are several benefits to inlays.

First, utilization of an inlay saves precious tooth structure that would have to be removed by fabrication of a crown.

The second benefit is the added strength that inlays give to the overall tooth structure. The increased strength of the porcelain compared to composite provides more strength, which in turn strengthens the tooth and increases the restorations prognosis.

Porcelain Inlays are fabricated by our ceramist. They are custom tailored to ensure that the shade and contour matches the natural tooth.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a series of clear retainers called aligners. Each aligner in the series moves the patient’s teeth, then holds them in place. The aligner is worn for one week, then the patient moves on to the next aligner.

Oral Surgery

I have been performing wisdom tooth surgeries for over a decade. While this is a common procedure, many of my patients have a lot of questions afterward. I make myself personally available to my patients or their parents for any questions or concerns. Over the years, I have learned that proper postoperative care and an abundance of communication between myself and the patient are the most effective ways to reduce postoperative discomfort.

Root Canal

A root canal is a procedure to save a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted. Our teeth have one or more roots and a canal that goes through the root of the tooth. This canal is the pathway that nerves and blood supply travel through. A root canal procedure cleans out that canal. This is done by clearing out any infection, sterilizing the canal, and then filling the inside with a rubber base material to seal it.

Sedation

Nitrus Oxide
Nitrous oxide is a form of inhaled minimal sedation. It produces a euphoric effect and can be adjusted as needed for the patient. Our administration of nitrous oxide is extremely safe, and after administration it is typically out of the patient’s system within five minutes.

Oral Conscious Sedation
For administration of oral conscious sedation, I utilize an oral medication to produce light sedation. Patients are relaxed, and some fall into a light sleep but can be easily awakened, while others attain a drowsy state. For this method, patients will need someone to drive them home.

Valium
Valium is a medication that produces a calming effect. In my practice, I use it as a light anti-anxiety medication. It can be taken the night prior to a procedure if a patient has trouble resting, the morning of the procedure, or right before the procedure. For this method, patients will need someone to drive them home.

Teeth Cleaning

The Simplest Way to Improve Your Smile
The easiest and most effective way to improve your smile is to get regular teeth cleanings. A teeth cleaning and polishing has a profound effect on brightness, shade, and freshness. Regular teeth whitening can also add an extra boost of brightness to your smile.
How Often Should I Get My Teeth Cleaned?
Time in between cleanings varies from patient to patient. After an examination we assess how often a cleaning is needed. Typically, most patients are scheduled for cleaning every 3 to 6 months.
Regular teeth cleanings can also help keep your heart healthy. Studies show that there is a link between the bacteria in our gums and heart disease.
