In 1909, the quarry started being mined for rock used in seawalls and bridge abutments. Rock was loaded onto wagons and moved to the California coast where it was utilized in various construction projects.

Nearly a hundred years later, in 2005, Larry and Grace Mosler, co-owners of Mosler Rock purchased the quarry and named it Mosler Rock – Ojai Quarry. Since that time, Mr. Mosler and his team worked hard to redesign the quarry to enhance safe working conditions, create an environmentally-sustainable operation, comply with federal and state regulations, and develop a finished dimensional stone product line to augment the uncut rock business.
