When Pinnacle Life launched back in 1998, buying life insurance was a real hassle. Appointments with brokers, awkward personal questions and heaps of paperwork, just to get a quote.

We wanted every Kiwi family to have the choice of getting the protection of life insurance. But if we wanted this to happen, we had to find a better way to do business. So, we invited Kiwis to deal with us directly, cutting out the cost and hassle of brokers and banks. Pretty radical stuff 20 years ago!

Then in 2007 we were the first company in the world to let customers apply and receive a life insurance policy online - and for most people in 10 minutes. A revolution in making it easy for customers.

And we’ve kept pushing ourselves to make it easier for our customers. Today, nearly 8 out of 10 people who apply get their life covered and their policy issued – there and then.
